Fountain City Brass Band Storms to Fourth Consecutive North American Title The Fountain City Brass Band again made brass band history this past weekend in Raleigh, North Carolina, as they became the first band in the history of the North American Brass Band Championships to win four consecutive titles. Under the direction of Dr. Joseph Parisi the band’s performances of Philip Sparke’s “Variations on an Enigma” and Johan de Meij’s “Extreme Makeover” thrilled the audience in the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts and garnered such praise from the panel of world-renowned adjudicators as “Outstanding….Incredible….Fabulous.... Terrific….Stunning!” The 30-piece Fountain City Brass Band will present an encore performance of both of these works, along with several others, as they bring their 2009-2010 concert season to a close with “Classic Brass,” on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. at MidAmerica Nazarene University’s Bell Cultural Arts Center, located at 2030 E.
