
Nate Gay is currently a graduate student in the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, studying with Tom Stein, and a recent graduate from Southwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies and a K-12 Teaching Certificate in music.
Nate is a member of several ensembles including the Fountain City Brass Band, Critical Mass Tuba-Euphonium Quartet, and the Great Plains Brass Quintet. His achievements include: 2nd Place 2009 Leonard Falcone International Euphonium Competition, 1st Place Great Plains Regional Euphonium & Tuba Conference Solo Euphonium Competition; Winner, 2006 & 2008 U.S. Open Brass Band Championships Best Soloist Award; Finalist, 2005 UMKC Concerto/Aria Competition; First Place, 2004 MTNA National Collegiate Artist Solo Brass Competition; Semi-Finalist, 2004 ITEC Artist Division Solo Euphonium Competition; and Winner, 1999, 2000 and 2002 Soloist Showcase at SMS. He has soloed with the SMS Wind Ensemble and has been a guest artist with both the SMS Orchestra and the Springfield Symphony. Nate and his wife Arah live in Gladstone, MO.
